Demi Lovato joins Jimmy Fallon for “Ew” on “The Tonight Show”

Andrew Lipovsky/NBCDemi Lovato made a special appearance on Monday’s The Tonight Show, where she joined host Jimmy Fallon for the show’s recurring segment, “Ew.”

The bit centers on a girl named Sara — played by Fallon — who hosts a show on Teen Nick called “Ew.” Sara is generally unimpressed with everything and if she doesn’t like something says “Ew” in a disparaging way.

Demi appears as Sara’s BFF Emily Livingston, who drops by on her way home from shopping for a dress to wear to their school’s spring fling.

“I’m so glad we’re going together,” says Sara, “Who needs boys anyway.”

“I know,” Emily answers, “They’re gross.”

After Emily shows Sara the dress she bought, the two take some emoji selfies, with Fallon imitating the “crazy face,” and Demi following with the “crazy laughing face.”

Next, the “girls” practice kissing, using a couple of pillows with Sara’s two crushes, Ed Sheeran and Mario Lopez, before getting caught by Sara’s step father — played by Tonight Show head writer, A.D. Miles — who reveals to their disgust that he’ll be their chaperone for the spring fling.

Later, the two played an “Ew!” speed round where Fallon holds up pictures and asks Demi to rate items like ankle bracelets and slime by replying either “ew” or “cute.” Demi surprises her bestie by calling Best Exotic Marigold Hotel actor Tom Wilkinson “cute.” However, they both love party poppers, which they pop to end the skit.

Demi teams up with DJ trio Cheat Codes on their upcoming song “No Promises,” coming out on Friday.
