James (buzz) White for RollacoasterA shirtless Liam Payne is the cover star of the British magazine Rollacoaster, and inside, he speaks — essentially for the first time — about his pregnant girlfriend, British singer Cheryl Cole, and relates an interesting run-in he and One Direction had with Donald Trump.
Speaking about Cheryl, who’s also a TV host and former judge on The X Factor, Liam said they’re living the dream.
“Obviously I have the most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world and she’s absolutely amazing,” he says of Cheryl, who finally confirmed her pregnancy in a photo shoot not long ago. “She’s been my dream girl since I was younger.”
Cheryl is 10 years older than 23-year-old Liam, which he considers a bonus. “She is a wonderful, wonderful person and it’s amazing to have someone who can relate to so much of things, someone who’s taken greater steps than me,” he gushes. “She’s been in the industry for fourteen years now. She fully supports me. We’re super happy. It’s a very personal, precious time for us. I’m still learning.”
As for Trump, Liam says One Direction once was staying on one of his New York hotels when the future president called their manager.
“It was about [meeting] his daughter,” says Liam. “We were asleep. He said ‘Well, wake them up’ and I was like ‘No,’ and then he wouldn’t let us use the underground garage [to come and go without being seen].”
“Obviously in New York we can’t really go outside. New York is ruthless for us,” Liam adds. “So he was like, ‘OK, then I don’t want you in my hotel.’ So we had to leave.”
